Spanish and American Sign Language are woven into everyday routines, songs, and play — building communication, connection, and early literacy naturally and joyfully.
Rooted in Montessori principles, our child-led approach encourages curiosity and independence — building the confidence and self-direction children carry into kindergarten and beyond.
Through Zumbini®, Born to Move™, yoga, mindfulness, dance, and music, children learn to calm their bodies, sharpen their focus, and grow confident.
Children develop communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills in a close-knit group where every child is truly seen and valued.

Nutrition is part of the learning experience. We serve wholesome meals and snacks—minimal processed foods, plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains
Nutritious, balanced, child-friendly meals are provided each day—no packing needed. Our meals support growing bodies and active days. Food allergies and dietary needs can be accommodated whenever possible; please discuss your child’s needs with us before enrollment.
As an Eco-Healthy Child Care® endorsed program, we take thoughtful steps to reduce environmental hazards and create a safe, nurturing, and healthier home-based learning environment.

Creative Minds is a warm, home-based early childhood program in Richmond, VA where children are truly known, loved, and supported in a small group of 8. Our days include bilingual Spanish and ASL learning, Montessori-inspired activities, Zumbini®, Born to Move™, yoga, mindfulness, and wholesome meals — all included. We’re typically fully enrolled with a waitlist of up to a year, though openings do happen sooner. When a spot opens, we’ll reach out personally — because finding the right fit for your child matters to us as much as it does to you.
Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm. We’re open year-round!
Yes—when a spot opens, we’ll reach out to schedule a tour. We’ll start with a short survey and a quick phone chat so we can learn about your child and make sure it feels like a great fit before you visit.

Payment is due Monday of the week of care.
At this time, we offer full-time enrollment only (no part-time or drop-in care).
To protect the group, children must be fever-free without medication (below 100.4°F) before returning. Families review and sign our health/illness policy at enrollment, and our practices align with recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and public health guidance.
Families receive updates through Brightwheel (photos, activities, and messages), plus email/text as needed.

At this time, we do not accept subsidy. Tuition is private pay, and payment is due weekly.
We use a “kiss and go” routine at the door — a brief, loving goodbye that supports smooth transitions and helps children feel secure and ready to learn.

With more than 30 years of experience in early childhood education, I’ve had the privilege of watching children grow, learn, and discover who they are. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have continued building on that foundation with certifications in child nutrition, yoga, Zumbini®, youth fitness, and CPR/first aid — because I believe caring for the whole child means never stopping learning.
As the owner and educator of Creative Minds, I’ve intentionally kept our group small so that every child is truly known, valued, and free to learn through meaningful experiences, movement, creativity, and play. I’m also deeply passionate about bilingual learning — which is why Spanish and American Sign Language are woven into our everyday routines, not treated as an add-on.
My goal has always been simple: to offer the kind of care I would want for my own family — safe, loving, engaging, and thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole child. Creative Minds is more than a place to spend the day. It’s a place where children feel at home, grow in confidence, and leave with a love of learning that stays with them long after they walk out the door.
